We are still looking to add an insert and have pretty much settled on the Lopi Medium flush insert but now with the tax credit gone will the prices start dropping? Curious about waiting this out until summer.

No prices will not drop

Credit gone, but tariffs remain. Prices are unlikely to drop, but watch for end of heating season sales and ask about buying a floor model.

Now what: vote.

In the meantime, put more wood up. You’ll need dry wood in your insert. Drying takes time.

I am optimistic that prices will drop for any stove company wishing to stay in business. Less subsidies mean less buyers so more competition due to decreased demand. None of us have crystal balls though.

I also see the low price offerings from companies like SBI getting better with sufficient utility.

Not every stove qualified for the credit. I wouldn’t expect their prices to change much.

As someone who sells sbi no their prices went up significantly with the tariffs.
