I’m looking into purchasing a woodstove and came across this in the area. Napoleon S9. Seemed like a great deal at $900, but upon receiving a few additional pictures, I noticed some damage to the door opening. I was curious if repairs could be made to this. I’m rather handy and a pretty good welder, but I would like to know if anyone has ever repaired a door like this.

Any thoughts on the upper secondary burn air manifold?

Could you grind down the high places and fill in the low places? The only other way would be to remove the bad areas and weld in new pieces. I guess if it were loose pieces on the bench they could be reheated and hammered, but difficult to do on a stove.

Think I'd pass on this one. It looks like it may not have received the best care. You don't want any question about the integrity of a stove in your home, remember you are inviting fire into your house, treat it respectfully...
