Just a heads up to let you all know that TS will only be selling Lignetics from now and moving forward. According to corporate and a local store manager they were swamped last year with complaints about other brands so they decided to stick with Lignetics as their sole supplier. If you use the iGepir barcode scanner app the UPC / SKU 0013238000001 will come up as Lignetics and 0749394000004 will come up as TS brand but they are actually Lignetics. They will be bagged in their usual Blue / White bag. Hope this helps....

That may be true in New York but here in the TSC in Owosso Mi they're selling Pro Pellets.

Ok, thanks for the info. Maybe it's a regional thing? Either way I'm glad they addressed the complaints and made changes.

Anything is possible! I know for a fact there were four pallets out front that were from last year because the store manager said they were Currans and when I ran the SKU they were in fact Currans which are junk in my opinion.

somersets $249 a ton in the Pa tsc store where I shop, but they also sell those blue bagged lignetics . I rarely buy from them, I can get Hammers or Barfoots for the same price or lower.

Unfortunately here in the upper Hudson Valley there is much choice. We have Lowe's, Home Depot, TS and a handful of smaller retailers. I've had good luck over the last 3 years with Lignetics aka Prestos, which I had previously purchased from Lowe's. The big box stores are so inconsistent with their variety so I pretty much gave up on them. I was happy to find out about the Lignetics at TS. Of course I could drive an hour for Barefoot at $220, but then the guy wanted $60 to load all 3 tons on my flatbed trailer. Never heard of a load fee before??

the TSC in Somerset Pa 15501 has Somersets.. I think the tsc mgr likes them just because the say "Somersets" but are made elsewhere

LOL... Truth I said $20 per ton he said yup so it would be $60 for 3 ton. Have a good day sir, but no thank you.

It varies region to region.In my area we are lucky to get Maine Woods pellets.The only problem is they leave them outside and they become water damaged.If I can get dry bags I snap them up.

picked up 10 bags yesterday at the same TSC as the OP .. igepir confirms they are lignetics, Have not tried them before but if they burn well and are relatively clean I will go back for more... as I don't have truck or trailer I will just pick up 10 at a time.. All I lose is 10 bux off the pallet price

I've used Presto logs which are made by Lignetics and I had very good luck. I'm hoping to continue that stretch of luck with the 3 tons that I just recently purchased.

MWP here too. The store manager said they will be the same as last year all season and they are ordering them in as inventory is needed vs massive stocking of them. They tried storing on site in the past and got water damage and theft problems. Right now he has 40 ton, where they used to have rows and rows of them. I bought two bags, if they are like last years I'll run all through shoulder season using TSC , maybe longer. They should be MWP but I won't know how they are till I burn again. I had that early start up back around the 2nd of Sept with Energex that were in the hopper and haven't burned since LOL.. Usually TSC are plenty hot if a bit ashy but they cost less than Energex. I bought my two bags from the Wareham TSC store. Energex and LG are from Highway Concrete and more money, plus a little further away.

I haven't checked HD yet this year, last year they consistently had FSU which burn a touch hotter than TSC but darker ash.

they do not manufacture any pellets that I am aware of .. check the barcode to find out what they actually are.. that said the price does look too high regardless

Ya, I don't know. It sounded funny to me too but his exact words were. " they're are own brand, just a generic bag that says wood pellets?" I was calling around for pricing and ended up going somewhere else.

Well, technically he is correct - the bag is generic white with blue lettering that says Wood Pellets (no brand name if I remember correctly). The only way you know what is in them is to look up the sku # (or talk to a knowledgeable employee, but I would trust the sku over that). That being said, there better be some really special pellets in ther for $285/ton.

In Mass. $270 - $285 is the norm for a good pellet. Douglas Fir runs you $330 for Blazers, and $369 for Okanagan.

True that. A couple years ago bought a load of pellets from my local TSC and had to return 30 of 75 bags because of obvious water damage. The store mgr told me he had pellets in stock that were over a year old -- needless to say, they were stacked out in the open all that time. Of course I found blown pellets in some of the bags I accepted. Never again.

We just don't get those prices here in SE Ma. BBS pellets went on close out last spring for around $4.90 but generally they range anywhere from $5.29 to $6.50 depending what they think they can get,brand etc.. Spruce Points are over $7 a bag @ Ace Hardware.. I see oil went up though, we were running around $1.95 all summer it's up to $2.33 now. On the other hand many people run propane in rental units etc. and they are stuck with nearly $5 a gallon propane costs. Seasonal cottages and such around here get converted to year round housing and sold off to families or individuals and those folks are stuck with the propane, that's where pellets come into play. this is an expensive utility neighborhood for some reason. No good reason but it's our reality if we want to live here..
