Two interesting gizmos

So here's a couple of gizmos I happened across in one of my time-wasting endeavors.
First, an interesting take on the wood stove. Pretty silly , but hey, to each their own.

Then there's this splitter.

Interesting idea. Note, only supposed to use an impact wrench. Makes sense. Still, a hatchet is way easier.

The splitter is a small version of of a "tool" that you attach to a truck axle to split rounds. The impact wrench idea sounds like a better way to go about this.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the conical wedge. For someone unable to safely swing a hatchet I could see this being a safer alternative.

I can truly see how, in some cases, the spiral wedge could help as bmblank said. That other contraption? And at over $6000? The ad says it's not so fun to saw the logs into stove length pieces. For $6,000 I will do some serious log cutting and the ever so wonderful option of splitting the wood for you as well. For $6.000 you probably could hire someone to blow on the wood to improve drying time.

With full length and unsplit logs you'd need all the help you can get to dry the wood.
