Upgrade Fans

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to upgrade the fans on an old stove with something that might blow more CFM? My Trailblazer has two small ~4" fans on either side of the bottom. I feel like if I could get more air flowing around the stove, I could get more of that heat out into my room.

If I could fab installation, could I just find any old 4" fan that would fit and try it out? Just curious. Anyone try this?

I guess you could just replace the existing fans with 'something' else of the same size. It might be hard to find the specs on the original fan, so may be hard to know what specs to look for in a new fan. In that case, I'd probably try to measure the amp draw of the old fan and look for something higher in the new fan. Same size fan, but higher amp draw generally means more CFM.

The downside is going to be noise. Higher CFM in the same size also means more noise. If you have the means for more complex fabrication, you could possibly install a bigger fan in the back of the stove. A bigger fan will generally move more CFM with less noise. I replaced a couple of small front fans with a 14" fan in the rear of the stove. The bigger fan moves way more CFM with less noise and being in the back of the stove also helps dampen the noise of the blades.

I'd have to get back there and look into how that'd work. These two get pumped into a tunnel along the sides of the stove and then back around the top. I even think just buying replacement propellers would move air more efficiently. The old ones seem pretty primitive.
