Hello
This old Whitfield heat Baffle was warped and rusted out. The new OEM baffles are still available from Whitfield and to my surprise are 12 Guage Steel as opposed to the original 13 Guage Steel. :)
At only $40 it is worthwhile because it looks and feels heavier so it will last longer. The new screws that come with the new Baffle are shorter than the old ones so since mine are in good shape, I kept the old ones. If you really wanted an improvement here, I would recommend some nice Stainless Steel screws since these are not!
The change out went well and the new one will be easier to remove and clean.
