Feeling the Heat

I current run a USSC 6500 Multi-fuel furnace for heat. It appears to be almost identical to the 8500 as far as components. Same blower fan CFM, same thermostat hookup method, same programming method etc etc. I was wondering if anyone had used the board/controller from an 8500 on a 6500 (or any other model)? The reason I am asking is because my 6500 has 3 heat level settings (1-3). The 8500 has 5 (1-5). This would allow for more fine tuning as far as heat output.

Thoughts?
