Interested in knowing if anyone has any experience with water heating thermal siphon and what temperature that the water will typically get up to with a coil set on top of stove or around a coal stove. Any help would be appreciated. Email [email protected]

My brother has done it in varios configurations over the years. You usually don't get a lot of heat transferred per hour, but you can eventually get your hot water tank up to 200 degrees or more. If you do it, you have to install a mixing / tempering valve so that you don't scald people by accident. I like the Honeywell AM-101 series valves.
Thanks for the input my concern was that my Amtrol Tank 41 Gal has a plastic liner that is only good to 150 Deg. I may consider a Stainless Tank if it would be worth my while. I presently heat my hot water of from my oil fired boiler consting me about $50 a month for the year.
