We are planning on a remodel project in our home this spring and summer. The St. Croix Auburn will be retired and we are wanting a pellet stove insert. The local hardware store sells Harman and I like the looks of the P35i. Are there any other choices? The cost is always a concern to me and the P35i seems a bit pricey, but I know they are a proven company with available parts. I'm not just real enthused about another St. Croix, its been just a bit of a hassle to get parts for this one, but then again maybe I just didn't know where to go. I definitely want auto light on the new insert.

bogieb switched from a St. Croix to Harman and seems well pleased. As long as the Harman dealer is a good one, life should be good but not all dealers are created the same. Harman also has the 52i which seems very popular on the forum...

Enviro makes an insert (M55) but not sure of the sizing...

Let us know what you figure out!

If you get the insert, make sure it's on rails for easy cleaning.

Have been fairly happy with our Quad Santa Fe if you need a somewhat small unit. Hear good things about their Classic Bay 1200 for a larger one.

I'm very happy with the Enviro M55 Cast Insert I bought 4 years ago. It looks great, keeps the house warm and does not require a lot of fuss. I finally hooked it up to a thermostat this year and am even happier with the stove now.

+1 on the rail kit. I'm glad I bought one.

I'm on my second season with my 35i. And I love it. Only problems have been my own fault. Accidentally pulled out the room temp sensor and forgot to pull the stove out when I cleaned the chimney and stalled one of the blowers with garbage. It's easy to service and pretty efficient in my inefficient house.

2 p35i's in my house. Can't go wrong!

We just bought a P35i in the fall. So far I really like it. We got a good deal by paying cash and there was a coupon on their website for 100$.
A big reason I went with Harman is because there are 3 dealers all about the same distance from me.

Quite frankly I think the enviro M55 is a much nicer looking stove, but their track record seems to be hit or miss for reliability.

I also like that parts are interchangeable from one stove to another on a Harman. I just changed my convection blower after having a bad bearing and it's the same fan on the Accentra.

I have a Quadra-fire Castile, other than I bought to small (it only puts out 35,000BTU max), I am happy with it. Been very reliable so far, runs off a thermostat which I like.
