What is Loc?
I have a Grandma Fisher Wood stove. It has a 2nd 8" outlet or inlet on the back with a flapper with a wight on it, is this a good thing or will it let smoke in to the room? Who made this stove? which State was it made in. Jeffrey Karate kid Gypsum, Colorado

Use the search feature at top right to search barometric on this Forum for information of what it is and how it works.
No, smoke will not come out, it allows indoor air into the chimney to slow the draft. Any leak into a chimney or connector pipe allows air IN due the lower pressure area in chimney, pipe and stove. That is what makes any wood stove work.
Barometric dampers are used on coal stoves to control the air through firebed. Install a manual flue damper and cap the rear inlet for wood use.
Safety reasons are given in many threads.
Probably from Woodland Park CO.
