I just picked up a Peavey made by Stihl. What are these used for? I need to roll a log and I'm assuming this thing can do it....it's the only thing I could find locally.

I had a long handled pickaroon but it grew legs and I've yet to find another one with a decent head on it. My pulp hook however I cannot do without.

Ja, all of the above except the intimidation. I also use it to roll logs over.firefighterjake said:Pulp hook . . . used for moving wood . . . I think I see folks use the pulp hook most often to load, unload or toss wood around vs. moving it around on the ground. I use mine mostly for loading and unloading my trailer/truck . . . it's the one tool I perhaps use most often . . . and yes, you can use it to drag a round to the splitter, reach into the trailer, haul wood around, intimidate other would-be scroungers by waving it around in an erratic manner, etc.
