This is the west end of Nimpkish Lake, Northern Vancouver Island. I have seen aerial photographs of this lake taken in the 1950's. There were bag booms of logs tied up to every shoreline around the lake.
The pilings that you see on the far shoreline, is where the logs were de-watered onto a steam train and taken to tide water. This setup was last used in 1958.
Plenty of beach wood driven high and dry by the winter storms.
Does not take much wood to toast wieners. Self.
The rat terriers. Left to right - Shadow, Rascal, and Cricket. Treat time.
Action shot!
