Any possibility of Cherry Plum? I’m wondering because of the purple leaves

I don't have much experience w/plum, but the pictured heartwood looks darker and more like an apple/crabapple than the more cherry-like plum. Apple/crabapple is my best guess, but I'm not 100% certain. As always, pictures can be deceiving, and exposure to air often darkens wood.

This time of year, leaves can be misleading because many nascent leaves are purplish/reddish before achieving a mature green color.

The bark does not look like cherry. It does look like apple.

Absolutely Apple, I can smell it from here! Apple has that purplish tint to the bark, and that split piece should smell super sweet!
