In the free 4+ cords the wife scored on Craigslist there was some fir, cedar and what they said was hemlock. Does this look like hemlock?

Thanks

It is definitely locust.
Fir= Crummy
Cedar = Crummy
Locust = Best Firewood in the State

Locust. Give your wife a trip to the spa (or whatever makes her happy). She just got some of the best wood on the planet for you. Save the locust for your absolute coldest nights.

I've split most of the fir a cedar, not crummy, needs to be used at the right time of year! Have about a cord of locust to split still. It will join the 2 cords or so of green oak the wife scored for $200 . Looking forward to the winter of 22/23!
