I took some photo's of my wood processing and storage area which I affectionately call Woodland

First is a view looking out of a window in the back of the house

Entering Woodland.....

A new stack, cross stacked ends

Back side view

Most recent stack, roughly 1.5 cord 12' x 40" x 5'6" tall (will likely settle to 5')

Showing top cover which is side of old above ground pool and my saw buck

I collect splitter scraps for kindling

This is where it all ends up

Impressive stacks and HH

I like the second pic the best
Seems like you're walking into a wood maze

Feels good to look out one's window and see 'money in the bank' that Obama can't tax or redistribute.

A large and secure 'account'
Careful sayin that, I have a feeling uncle Sam is itching to tax us on those stacks.

Gotten wood is the best ! ;)
Very nice pics.
Neat, organized, professional looking!
How many cords do you estimate you have ?
Looks like a gazilion cords :)

My back, and wife, would say its a solid gazilion! I just did an inventory update and came up with 24.8 cords. I burn 5 to 6 per year (the FPX 44 cranks out the heat but is a hungry beast).

That's a lot of freaking wood, a heavenly daily wander spot :p

an all around great setup

Woodland will be growing.... just got off the phone with the neighbor behind me (who actually owns some of the property that Woodland is on). They have a tree company there today taking down 6 oak trees and wanted to know if I wanted the wood. OF COURSE I DO! My weekend plans just changed.... I will be moving wood now.

Picture shows it did happen - all oak, most of them took two of us to lift into the truck. We wanted to get the guys yard cleaned up quickly so I just rolled them off yesterday. Got some work to do to get them off the lawn today. My buddy has an equal size pile, though his rounds are a bit smaller as he splits by hand so I took the monsters.
I'm guessing 1.5 cords worth here?

While loading the trucks yesterday my buddy and I discussed that we should do something for the folks(in there 70's) who were really nice to us. They saved a bunch of money by having us take the wood but I could tell were concerned about how long it would be laying there. We started at 8am and had it all gone by 1:30pm. We decided to clean up his yard as the thank you, so we raked and leaf blew his lawn, picking up all the debries the tree company left behind (they did a poor job of cleaning up). After lifting all those rounds this was easy work. Well, we finish and the guy comes out and says "my wife and I were talking, wondering how much we should tip you!" Of course we didnt take it but it goes to show you how a little effort on the finishing touch can leave a great impression.
