I have the F55 and it worked like a champion. I heat up 2,000 sq ft with no problem at all with the thermostat around 75 . If you want it warmer just get the blower with it. I clean my ashes out every 3 days if your going to burn all day. It feels nice and toasty.

wish I could see one in person, our jotul dealer doesn't have one out on the floor.

Have you had many other modern stoves to compare it to? I have had several, and they all dump ash out the front a little. I never thought anything about it.

Yes I had a Napolean 1450 in my last house, front load only, That thing very rarely spilled ash out the front and when it did the ash lip was large enough and designed so that it was very easy to clean up. For the money I shouldnt be dealing with the mess the Oslo produces when opening the front door, seems like a design flaw that should have been fixed over time.

It's not the only issue. Just learned that my dealer, who's store is indefinitely closed due to some alleged legal difficulties, may have been engaging in some not so better business bureau approved business practices. There's some suspicion I was sold a stove with a known defect. Another Lopi dealer says Travis is already aware of this guy and if I call Travis directly, they may try to make things right, at least replace the parts for free so I can get a better price for it if I sell it.

Plus, the whole downdraft style just not working for me.

Now the new can of worms, if Travis offers to replace the stove, would I pick a different Lopi? Endeavor, Republic?
I can tell you that Travis isn't gonna do a thing to help you out. Sorry. They won't even admit that the Leyden had any issues. The few issues I've had with the Cape Cod go unresolved too. They act like I'm the only person in the world that has experienced any issues. Whatever!
They might give you the last revision parts, but they don't fix any of the issues. They are just throwing parts at it.

Getting the serial number off the back of the stove in a fireplace install was not easy. I am calling tomorrow. I will report back.

Do you recall what revision number was on the box? It would have on the label along with the serial number. They claimed mine was missing the last two revisions. They supplied the parts, I did all the work. I doubt it will make any difference at all. I have zero faith in the combustion system!

Did not remember seeing a revision number, but I didn't think to look. Will have to get the flashlight and camera out again!
Will it be obvious, and say "revision number..."?

I don't think the stove itself will say. It would have said on the box that it came in. It had a big description label on it, it would have said if it had all the revisions done to it. I think they are to revision 6!
Most of the other Lopi's have no revisions or maybe 1 if that tells you anything!

Ok, webby, you called it.

They were very firm that my only recourse is to deal directly with the dealer. Who is closed. And has been closed since last winter. And will likely never open again.

Pressed them further, and they transferred me to Travis representative for New York State.

He stated Travis dealers do trade ins all the time, but not in New York Metro/Long Island, apparently too much liability in re-selling a used stove?!?
I called almost every dealer in the area later, no one would take a trade in.

Pressed him further, and he will consider replacing the parts, after I email pictures and he makes a determination.

Which at this point would be fine. I was sold a damaged lid, I want a new lid. That way I can craigslist a functioning stove.
