Can't remember if I asked this or not . What is the largest non cat insert available . Looking for something like a buck 91 size wise . Price under 4000$

The Country Canyon C310 is a big box.

Who are those made by I'll try and look up dealers in my area. Prices the same as 91? Quote on 91 was 3100-3500 rather not have a cat stove tho

Lennox sells the Country C310. I was in error about the Enerzone. I would consider a Kuma Sequoia if you need a really big stove. It's a cat, but I have never heard a bad word about it. Also, the Buck 94 is huge and non-cat. Both the Kuma and the big Buck require an 8" liner.

Is it true cats need replaced every couple of years and are the newer non cat stoves as efficient with burn times? What about the kuma vs the buck 91? Especially price wise lol

I like the kuma looks like it would save me 1000$ over the buck! Also just noticed the kuma does not have a blower? I feel this would hinder it in an insert setting? Am I wrong? I would really like to throw the heat out with my open floor plan

If you run a cat stove correctly it is reasonable to expect 5-8 years from the catalyst. Some folks have gone as long as 10 years. Most premature cat failures are due to overfiring, wet wood or poisoning of the cat.

The Kuma has a 3.6 cu ft firebox. There are at least three other steel stoves about that size that will cost you less than $21100-2500.

the enerzone 3.4 is a non-cat as well as the osburn 2400 3.2 cubic ft box quad 5700 right around 3 cubic ft all non cats

* Insert * folks

then the 2400 osburn works still missed the insert part first time lol

Looked up the hearthstone it's over 4000$?
Which isn't a steel stove.

The Kuma is 3.6 cu ft steel stove.

Englander 30NC is 3.5 and will run you $900
Drolet HT200 is 3.4 cu ft and will run you about $1500.

This is what I was referring to in the first posting.

Yes, and you are the one that suggested it, not the confused OP.

Didn't realize OP quoted that before I edited it. It was literally there for less then a minute.

Osburn 2400 insert: 3.2 cu ft
Regency Classic I3100: 2.9 cu ft
Kuma: 3.6 cu ft
Large Flush Wood Hybrid-Fyre from Lopi/Avalon: 3 cu ft
Pacific Energy Summit: 3 cu ft
Quadrafire 5100i Wood Insert: 3 cu ft

For the life of me, I can not find the firebox size of the Country Canyon. But it is a 8" flue. So it must be near the 4 cu ft range.

Thank you for that list ! I didn't know the englander nc30 could be used as an insert thought it was a free stander?

No, the 30 is a free standing stove. It is not an insert. I confused myself initially.

Gotta stick with inserts for upstairs stove. What about the kuma seq does it have a blower? I saw a natural convection but I feel that may hinder its performance being partially pushed back as an insert?

How tall of an opening are you working with?

Off topic but is this a safe thimble in my basement? Right next to drywall?
