I recently bought a 1352 square foot quad-level home in northern Mahican. I have a 500 gallon LP tank but I am looking to supplement it with a pellet stove. the stove would have to go on the 2nd level ( the level above the basement, but is still sub-level) there is no place on the main floor. From the 2nd level to the main level there is a short hallway this 6 stairs so I would think the heat would rise up to the main level. I am not expecting alot of heat to make it to the top floor where the master bedroom is, but I just want to supplement the propane. I ran across a used four year old Canadian comfort/pelpro freestanding stove which claims to heat up to 2000 square feet.It has a 40lb. hopper and is in decent shape. I know this stove isnt top of the line but I believe it is a good deal. Anyone comments about this stove, or best location for a quad level or any other information about pellet stove would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I don't have any input on the stove. Don't have any experiance with one. But I will say with 4 levels its probably going to struggle with moving heat up the levels for you without some work. Best bet is installing it where you spend most of your time. But not in the bed rooms. That's against most codes AFAIK.

Hopefully we have a member that has some info on the stove for you.

Put the stove you are looking at in the title of this thread. That way someone will notice what you are looking at.

I also have no experience with the stove, but i have a similar style/size split level home (2x2, 6 stairs per level.) running a stove rated for 2200 sq ft.

I have mine on level 3 and it takes care of my bedrooms on level 4 just fine. Level 2 is ice cold. No heat gets there. If i have have extra money, i'm probably going to put a small wood stove in on this level. The basement stays comfy due to the boiler which still runs my hot water. Back on topic, on level 3, it is aiming at the stair case towards level 4l. There is a SIGNIFICANT temp difference between the top of the stairs/hall, to 2 feet into the bedrooms on level 4. The heat does not like to turn corners. You can literally feel it as you walk in. This is good for me, though. The main house stays in the mid/upper 60s and the bedrooms stay in the lower 60s for better sleeping.

I'm not sure if it would make it another level.

Either way, it will still significantly reduce the amount of propane you use for those 2 levels.

we have one of these where i work,it is going on its 4th year.It is a great stove.runs 24hrs a day 7 days a week, heats about 1250 sq ft.easily, with people going in and out of doors all day long.not fussy about pellet brand, using cubex now.,one of the employs has one in his house on 1st floor and it heats downstairs and does pretty well getting heat upstairs unless its below zero. so i think over all its a good stove, never any trouble, i have a different stove in my house and it cant ever heat the upstairs, never will i put on bottom floor again. was done because of space. but pellet pro stove does impress me for the money, and the one at work holds 8 bags.

Hello

I have this one for sale right now. It was only used less than 3 seasons, I refurbed it and it is in excellent condition.

This is the Top of the line model and I know a couple of others that have one and they say it heats well and after 5 years it is still running strong!

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks

I installed a Glow Boy shop heater in my mobile home in March,I delivered fuel oil for 18 years. My brothyer decided not to sell oil anymore.I don't like gas heat , so I spent my tax return on a pellet stove. It was floor model that had never been used, paid 1400 for the stove. So far it has worked very well, the only problem is getting the heat to the other end of the house.I mounted a box fan in front of my furnace to move the air around the house. That helped alot,I also put a corner fan to move warmer air towards the furnace.Im have been burning Michigan pellets, the ones from the Grayling plant are better than the ones from Holland. This years batch are burning better than the ones from last year.So far I am happy with the stove and would recommend one to anyone.
