My 25 yr. old daughter asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told her a large galvanized metal trash can with a cover.. She asked if I was serious and I told her yes to store my ashes outside as I spread the ashes if the driveway ices up for traction control for both walking and driving.. She complied and I now possess a 30 gallon galvanized metal trash can with a big red ribbon and bow :)

Should have added . . . "and filled with my favorite beverage." I suppose an empty can is good too . . . but a filled can is even better.

Jake I should have consulted and invited you over for the beer drinking ceremony lol..

My wife's uncle is a woodburner. I gave him a hearth related gift. Here's the spread: 2 super cedars, a small bundle of cedar for kindling and 3 pieces of mahogany 5/4 x 4 at 14" lengths. Wrapped it all up with a couple of bows. Thought that was a fun gift. My wife bought them an actual gift that included a hearth rug, but this was a fun extra that I threw in.

Also my wife bought me this, and I'll be using some of the cash I got for some firewood covers, a metal tub for firewood on the hearth and I'm thinking about getting an ash rake.

Only problem is I only drink hard cider . . . which is why I was very, very happy at the Woodstock Open House as they had Woodchuck cider on tap.

I got the gloves up to the elbows from Mrs. GiW. Black, thin red trim. Huge, huge improvement over the skimpy oven mitt that Morso included with my insert. Why did they bother?

I got the Logmatic splitting basket. Love my Logmatic. Going to a neighbor's house Sunday and will be bringing some Super Cedars for her. She has a Jotul Oslo and has been complaining about her starts.

Actually our T5 insert was our early Christmas gift to each other. LOVE IT !!!!!!
