I know its a topic that is ridden into the ground... but I'm not sure there has ever been a poll asking. What do you currently run? That`s all I am interested in.

If its happened before, well there are new users here... and the results may be different now. Im sure we can discuss the finer points of why you run what you run.. but its not the point of this thread.

1988 Vermont Castings Encore CAT

2011 jotul castine F400- running 24/7 {or close to it}

No CATs here.

Wow, I really did not expect that high a % of CATs.

Now I have to go buy a CAT stove so that I can have some self esteem.

<edit> The number of sterno's surprised me too.

You forgot the category - one of each

Kind of surprising there are so many cats. If you would of taken this poll 5 years ago it would of been much different. Guess all my preaching about Woodstock helped these numbers some huh. ;-)

i voted non cat because my current stove, a pe summit, that i'm using does not have one......but i prefer a cat, now that i've used one that doesn't have one.....come to think of it, my jotul does not have one either but it beckons CATS and DOGS to lay beside it.....does that count?

With the ratio of cat to non-cat stoves out there, it is a bit surprising. All the non-cat burners must be busy loading their stoves, controlling overfires, and opening and closing wondows due to the huge temp swings :)

The exact reason I made this thread. You can see trends in various posts here in the forum, but I wanted to see it in simple poll form.

And yeah, I didnt add the option for both styles concurrently. Can't please 'em all :)

Nor do I have to replace the coverter every couple of years. Just have to load the stove in that time sequence. :cheese:

Consider me displeased...now i have to go refill the sterno.

When it's cold outside a cat stove is going to be pushed, just like a non-cat. If that rock is not at 600F+ someone's going to be asking for more heat.

Hybrid... best of both worlds :)
