I am looking for a Appalachian 30CD Wood Stove Insert or equal. My budget is @$1200.00 delivered.

Any suggestions for equal models or places to check would be appreciated.

If you can get that insert delivered for $1200 go for it. That is a heck of a deal. It lists for about 2 grand and $1500 is a good price.

In the $1200 range I would be looking at a Drolet or an Englander 13 NCi. How large an area will it be heating? Is the fireplace room large and open to the rest of the house?

Yes the best I have found is $1550.00. I am having to rebuild my factory built fireplace and that is taking a chunk out of my budget as I cannot do all the work myself. I am just hoping that being the time of year a clearance sale will happen. I am near Lexington, KY and will travel @200 miles to pick up. Or that there is a equal out there that provides nearly the same dimensions and specifications.

Is a cat stove important? I don't think there are any cat inserts in your price range. If not, then the Englander 13 NCi is about the same size and a good deal. http://www.overstockstoves.com/50tnc13i--epa-certified-noncatalytic-wood-stove--1550131500.html

There's also the Century 2500 in this price range and the Drolet Escape 1400.

Check to be sure it will fit correctly before ordering.

I could care less about cat. More interested in the ash pan. Thank you very much for your assistance!

Does anyone know anything about this? Timberwolf TI-2201 EPA Wood Burning Fireplace Insert with Flashing

I haven't read any posts on this insert yet. Timberwolf is the economy line made by Napoleon's parent company Wolf Steel. This insert looks similar to the Napoleon 1402. FWIW, ash pans are seriously overrated. Ours never gets used.

So your rebuilding the factory fireplace to install an insert into it? Why not tear the factory built out and be done with that, and install a freestander in it's place?

Exactly how reliable are they?
