Wow, that answers a lot of questions. I'm surprised at the smoothness, accuracy and trueness of the cuts. I guess having a sharp chain is the key.

Good work zap and thanks for posting the video. As for the safety things the guys bring up, as usual,most are unfounded. I often wonder what would be posted if I could post some videos of the old saw mill and how we worked. Well, even the saws. I grew up long before all the safety equipment and worked with plenty of folks who ran the saws too. None of us every got hurt running them either, although I do know of one man who nearly got killed at the mill.

Apples to apples, Husky usually is more $$. And as far as parts only through dealers? That's the way it should be. Quality product with support through quality people. Of course a moron of a dealer could screw that up.

Zap turned 25 a little while ago.

zap, just curious why you have the saw on that side of the log, are you a lefty? I always do it from the other side as it just seems right and my right hand is pushing down the middle.

Now thats what i call a happy dance. I do that every day at 6pm when im walking out of my office.

You got it. I've had my mill since 1993,though it dont get used as much now I'm still pretty flexible & will be 49 in 4 months.I guess all those years of climbing ladders,scaffolding & trees paid off.I listen to my body now & dont overdo it,compared to when younger.When I get tired,its time for a break.I'm in no hurry thats for sure.

What keeps the tip from coming up from the weight of the power head. Are you pushing down to hold it in place?

I wish i had some extra money right now. There is a 084 for sale by me and a mill to.

Same here. I have been looking for saw that need a lil work. There is a good saw market around here. Lots of people heat with wood. I thinking about geting a ms310 with a broken handle.

That's a 111cc saw. Husky makes one saw of similar displacement, if you have $1800 to drop on it.

My "big" saw is 50 cc (Echo 510 EVL). Beats most, I guess, and never has trouble turning a sharp chain on a 20" - 24" bar. Would get a kick out of owning a 100cc saw, just not sure how much use I'd actually have for it in my day-to-day.
