Good work zap and thanks for posting the video. As for the safety things the guys bring up, as usual, most are unfounded. I often wonder what would be posted if I could post some videos of the old saw mill and how we worked. Well, even the saws. I grew up long before all the safety equipment and worked with plenty of folks who ran the saws too. None of us every got hurt running them either, although I do know of one man who nearly got killed at the mill.

Very cool zap thanks for posting the video ! Love the dance too .

damb....shhhh... i got a husky :S why is stihl so damb good? they are so expensive and parts are only sold to dealers :(

Apples to apples, Husky usually is more $$. And as far as parts only through dealers? That's the way it should be. Quality product with support through quality people. Of course a moron of a dealer could screw that up. <>

His saw sliced through that tree like a hot knife through butter (i wish i could make my saws do that) Im feeling like i have to work 10x as hard as him to do half the amount of cutting he just did (id like to watch him try some oak next time, id be interested in that). ... im going to start trolling Craigslist for one of these mills, if only my saws could work like that one... =\

If you want to maximize your current saws capabilities or research new/used ones. Get over in The Gear forum and start paying attention! ;)

Zap, Gotta love (and respect!) a man who'll post a video of himself running a bad-ass saw and finish it off by dancing in chaps and a hard-hat. LMAO man. ;lol

I watched the video - what I found impressive is Zaps flexibility. Full squat, knees bent, all the way down and holding. No biggy if you're 20 Zap but pretty darn impressive if you're any where near 50. Miraculous if you're older than 50 (I have no clue what age Zap is).

Zap turned 25 a little while ago.

zap, just curious why you have the saw on that side of the log, are you a lefty? I always do it from the other side as it just seems right and my right hand is pushing down the middle.

Now thats what i call a happy dance. I do that every day at 6pm when im walking out of my office.

You got it. I've had my mill since 1993,though it dont get used as much now I'm still pretty flexible & will be 49 in 4 months.I guess all those years of climbing ladders, scaffolding & trees paid off.I listen to my body now & dont overdo it,compared to when younger. When I get tired, its time for a break.I'm in no hurry thats for sure.

What keeps the tip from coming up from the weight of the power head. Are you pushing down to hold it in place?

I wish i had some extra money right now. There is a 084 for sale by me and a mill to.

Cant wait to see that coffee table.

The handle you push with keeps the nose down along with your hand on the trigger end.

zap
Does the 084 cost around $800.00?

Asking $750 with 21" bar and chain and a brand new 42"

You should come get it.

I have the saws I need, but if I ever found a deal on a 075 or up maybe I might buy just for resale.

Same here. I have been looking for saw that need a lil work. There is a good saw market around here. Lots of people heat with wood. I thinking about geting a ms310 with a broken handle.

That's a 111cc saw. Husky makes one saw of similar displacement, if you have $1800 to drop on it.

My "big" saw is 50 cc (Echo 510 EVL). Beats most, I guess, and never has trouble turning a sharp chain on a 20" - 24" bar. Would get a kick out of owning a 100cc saw, just not sure how much use I'd actually have for it in my day-to-day.

Very cool video, though. Keep 'em coming!

I learned the hard way, I was in the woods on the weekends & during the week so one night the old body just said rest in different ways, so rest I did boy was that a nice month off just resting.

Never Again
