drying hunting clothes. My daughter and I spent the day deer hunting in the rain yesterday. We were soaked! I came home and the wife had a fire in the stove so I hung our clothes in different areas around the room (on chairs or on the floor) and they were dry in two hours. Gotta love wood heat.

My daughter came into the living room last night after her shower to get my wife to dry her hair. When she felt all the hot air blowing from the fireplace, she decided to just stand there and dry her hair. Worked better and faster than the hair dryer.

Bet you two enjoyed that heat after being wet all day,,,,,, it's the best,,,,,warms you to the bone;)

Last November I saw an icicle off the end of my barrel when the sun came up. When I smelt the farmer's old smoke dragon fire up I figured it would be more fun inside his place than sitting in wet overalls so I went over and said good morning. God Bless him, he always has an empty stool for me to sit on by his wood stove.

We have hooks, nails and hangers all around the stove at camp and a rack on the wall behind it for hanging you boots upside down. Love dry clothes and boot to hunt in

I always put gloves, hats and sweatshirts on the stone mantle above mine and they dry out nicely, nice to put on a warm sweatshirt on a cold day.

same here, in winter time I will take wet boots and clothing and set up a make shift drying area. I should take a picture one of these times, it looks kinda ghetto in the living room

I never use the dryer during the winter. The liberty dries all my clothes which saves alot of money

We dry nearly all of our clothes on a large drying rack when we are burning. I hate using the dryer. I've got my shoes and jacket near our stove right now. :)

I'm using ours right now to dry some paint. We just put another coat on the walls of the room one of the Oslo's is in, and this damp hurricane weather isn't too conducive to getting it dry. I'd like to get on the final coat by this evening.

Like others, our stove has been used for years for drying laundry. Coming indoors in winter with wet gloves or clothing, it goes near the wood stove and dries very quickly. Soapstone blocks go inside boots to dry them.

As an added benefit of drying clothing by the stove, it raises the humidity level.
