I'm glad to have found this forum there seems to have quite a few knowledgable people on here, been doing some searching on here for a few days about my Englander 25PDV, I've only owned the stove now for 2 months.
Did the whole install myself and built the hearth too. IMG-20121111-00119.jpgIMG-20121111-00120.jpg
Of course i still needed to connect the fresh air tube.

And my first ton of pellets "Canadian Bio Fuel"

Welcome to the nut house. Nice looking stove and pad too. Is that a window above the stove? Does that open? We are going to have to send you to pellet bag stacking school though. The pellet pigs on here will not be happy with the way they are arranged. That is bordering on pellet abuse. ;)

Very nice. I see you went with 4" vent.. How far up outside does your vertical go?

Now for the Code Police (Pellets, we'll let you slide on this ) but you need to get a good surge protector on that stove. If you think your computer has delicate electronics? Then think of your pellet stove as another computer :)

Welcome to the Looney bunch.... :) It only gets worse :(

Thanks, and yes that window does open. About the pellet stacking, when I was done I looked at the pile and thought I should really have stacked that better;lol

I'm using a UPC battery back-up it just wasn't installed yet when I took the photo.
My venting goes straight out the back through the thimble, books a left out side, runs horizontally for 4' and into a clean out tee then straight up for 5' then terminates.
All that becuase I had to stay clear of the window that opens.

Ahhhh...you saw where I was heading with this. How does it burn???

You could have went out the wall and straight up (eliminate the 4ft horiz) as long as the vertical went 1 ft above the window (granted it would have been in he line of sight).

Your EVL is around 17' if I have calculated correctly. Which isnt bad at all. But 4 ft of horizontal before your Vertical is not ideal.

As for the UPS. Good job.

It burns pretty good now, for the lonest time it was over feeding, over filling the burn pot with ash, the glass would get dirty real fast, also using approx. 40lbs of pellets in 8-10 hrs on 2-3 heat settings. Called the tech line and was told to re adjust the feed rate from 6 to 3 now it seems to run much better.

i have the same stove , installed in the basement on jan 1st , happy new year !:)

burning different pellets all week trying to find the best , cost/ash/heat ratio

mine did not like the stove chow from hd , i bought 8 bags and 5 will go back it was so bad , i was thinking something was wrong until i put something different in it

definitley took the edge off the chilliness in my rancher and the boiler has only fired once for t-stat in a week

running mine on 5 -9 , goes about 36hrs on 2 bags of the better stuff

i like , my 1st pellet stove although i have "used" them before

btw , looks good
