I have to figure out which pellets I want to burn this year. I tried Barefoots again, got from a different seller and they are much better than the ones I purchased last year. They seem like all the pellets are bout the same size and burning very nice in my stove. So I have to decide if I should get them or buy some LG Granules that also burn nice. Maybe get both.

Why not try both? I'm going out on a limb this year and trying a lot of different brands, MWP softies, Vermonts, MWP blends, FU's and anything else around that looks interesting...

Where are you purchasing Barefoot pellets from? I live in Western Maine and have not been able to locate a dealer in Maine that carries them.

thanks

I would try both, and it depends on the price, here the barefoots are pricy, are they both the same price by you?

Hi Rick I am in the midcoast area, I can find them in Wiscasset and Damariscotta.
jeanine they are both about the same I believe, I think about $269.00 a ton

Bob,

I have tried the link before and not had much luck. Would you mind listing the names of the stores. At $269.00 a ton it would be worth it for me to travel to get them.

I took a guess and called a place in Damariscotta (Damariscotta Hardware) that has them priced at $310.00 a ton. I don't know if the place I called is the same at the ones Bob is talking about.

thanks

Rick......

Rick that is one place but pricey. I have been dealing with Ames True Value supply in Wiscasset on route 1. That is the price I believe they told me but they didn't have the new supply prices yet.

called them and the price is $279.00 a ton------Barefoots and LG Granules

If the price is the same, try splitting the order....some of each, although I'd lean a little heavier on the ones you already know burn well in your stove.

Can I ask what you had to give for the MWP softies? Last year I bought two tons of them and 3 tons of the mixed MWP. I waited until the coldest part of the winter before I put in the softies. When the year was done, I had a half ton of the softies and none of. the mixed left. I can't objectively say that I got that much more heat from the softies so this year I only bought the mixed.

imacman burned a bit of the LG's last year not bad. Last year didn't like the barefoots, but tried some this year and they seem real nice. So I think I will get a ton of the Barefoots for starters. Hopefully can make some room to store them this weekend.

Burning LG's and Cleanfire pacific, like them both alot. The Cleanfires burn real hot in my stove:ZZZ

+1! Try both. I'm partial to BF.
Augmister I just might get a ton of each. 1 ton barefoot and 1 ton LG Granules. They are the same price, the only one cheaper is MWP blend and they are like $229.00 and they don't burn great in my stove.
