Fired the stove up for first time this year. Last year was my first year with the stove and it developed a considerable amount of rust in the fire box/ burn pot over the off season. Because of the rust the auto clean was stuck and eventually it broke free. What should I do to lessen the rust in the stove and keep the auto clean running smooth. Thanks.

I a similar mistake my first year. At the end of the season clean the stove thoroughly. Give the inside a quick coat of high temp paint. Plug the exhaust (and oak if you have one) to prevent humid air from getting to your stove. Most people put a container of damp-rid in the firebox (sometimes 1 in the hopper too). Just make sure to empty the water from it ocasionally depending on how humid your house/general environment is. MAKE SURE TO UNPLUG YOUR EXHAUST AND OAK BEFORE FIRING THE STOVE in the fall. As for how to lubricate the autoclean system, I would like to hear a little about that myself. Anyone have any input? Graphite powder?
I coat my autoclean rails with dielectric grease. It provides good lube and is able to take the heat and not boil off. You could also spray it with high temp graphite. After I clean my stove I paint the baffle with high temp paint and spray the entire inside with Pam cooking spray to protect from rust. I have the stove 4 years and never had any rust at all.
