Anyone know how I can reduce the amount of ash that blows into the exhaust of my Lennox ps40? I already choked it down as far as i can and it still makes a miniature Hades every time the pellets drop. Ash does stay in the stove, though.

The 'mushroom cloud' of ash/sparks is normal-- and it's what's supposed to happen to keep the burn pot clear. The ash is mostly supposed to hit the top and then fall back down. a lot of it catches on the underside lip in front.

Using a quality lower ash pellet is really the only thing you can do. I clean the flue side passages and exhaust T once a month.
