Hey all you Princess Insert owners out there-
Any tips for my first burn and my first week? Lots of good info on the forums! I do have a question that I haven't seen answered….can you boil water on the top of the insert or is that all fan?
PS. Live in Connecticut and have a 2200 sft home

You could if you run it without the grill on top, couple members here burn theirs without it.

I was doing that for a while at the beginning, but then decided to install the grill, looks better with grill I think, and I am not sure if the screen directs the heat better? Unfortunately with the screen you can not boil the water, I place a pot and a kettle on top of screen to get the humidity up, but it is not direct contact with the stove top so the water evaporates very slowly.
