holy crap! lake effect's a witch.
we have a friend who is flying into syracuse tomorrow and heading home to pottsdam. hopefully she'll make it home without too much trouble.
they may have gotten hit too. yesterdays storm started from Canada. my sister in law lives up there but we haven't heard from her. I doubt they got what we have but they do get a good amount. so far today has been nice and is forecasted to get only a few more inches. Syracuse got around a foot last night I guess. pottsdam gets the very cold weather though. I would rather have 4 feet of snow and 15 degrees than 10 inches and -10 all the time. I have a lot of outside work still.

Our chevy hhr has the same problem. We have approximately one foot of fresh snow, snow blower has been working overtime with me behind it doing the same, my new timber ridge 49 can't get here soon enough. I'm going to have to install 4" from the back of the stove all the way out. Hope I have it up and running b4 Christmas. Having a hard time finding 4" pipe and fittings, no box stores or mom and pop shops around here carry it near me. That means a 85 mile drive one way. Good thing the hhr gets 29 mpg.
would it be faster and cheaper to order it from the web?

they were calling for 6-12 but i got maybe 4-5 here. it turned to rain/sleet junk at the end

about 10-12 inches about what they said. Stove is off may have it on tomorrow as its supposed to get very cold may need the extra help.

around here they can not predict snow fall amounts. I know some of it is because of the lake, but even regular snow they suck at. always hyping. gets everyone in a uproar because they predict 2 feet and we get 8 inches. it's frustrating for me because I schedule work according to the weather forecast.

Got about a foot here in Kingston though not as fluffy as we were led to believe it was going to be. When I got up at 6 the weather app on my pc showed it as 32 out- for about 5 minutes then dropped to 19, then 14 when I went out at 8 to start the snow removal (80 ft driveway, 2 side spots for car parking, path to shed, then an hr to get snow off roof).
P43 on room temp/manual, house at 71 down/69 up all day.

It was a weird storm. We live almost on the ocean so things don't go as planned sometimes. Started out 15 degrees, temps rose to 40 degrees and it rained, then the rain stopped and the temps dropped to 20. Wife actually shut the stove off for 5 or 6 hours last night :)

No snow,40 degrees today.Shut down stove & cleaned.Sunny partially overcast---wooops I guess I'm in the wrong part of the country!

Temps rose from below zero to about 5 above during the snowfall which started in the night sometime. This am it still wasn't snowing really hard, but steady. In the end we got 6 inches of very light powder that was starting to blow around as the sun set today. My Harman boiler is running just as it should be and is burning about four bags a day. cellar is at 76 today, main floor at 72 and the upstairs is about 68. 3000 square feet in all. Can't complain. Can't easily put in geothermal here either, plus i would seldom need to cool.

Snow keeps coming.. have over 2 feet here. Nights are in low teens. Burning at 3 on feed, about medium, mixing Turmans with DryCreek.. Can't find the Prius !! Plow truck died, snow blower died, using bucket on new JD tractor...

We ended up with 11". Another 2-4" coming tomorrow.

Snow is over for now, close to 2 ft. No wind last night for a change, running on stat, 1 to 3, about 72 inside was -32 c out no wonder i run 0-w-30 oil in my car and truck in the winter time.

Wow everything is upside down in snow. Used to live near a lake effect area, it snowed once for 33 days straight. Sometimes just a inch or two a day sometimes a dumping.

damn! so much snow it capsized your yard. ;lol

I don't know why my pics always come show upside down. it's driving me crazy. it only happens on this site. I put these pics on another hvac forum and they were fine. I even used my daughters ipad this time. I am going to try something else. maybe if I email them to my laptop I can fix them. I don't know how to run the ipad. my daughter is 5 and doesn't give it up to easy.
it literally has snowed for 6 days straight. not constantly hard but enough to say it hasn't stopped and enough to keep me busy every day.

18" last night here. Lake effect is kicking us around a little. Stove is running on the usual settings, and the house is it's usual 80 in the stove room and 40 in the bedrooms.

Poor old Massey 50 got her butt kicked in this (and lost a fender) but is still running!

Its been in the mid teens here with expected single digits tonight.
As for snow, we probably got 10" or so.
The Ep 25 has been on heat 3 blower 6 and the house is 71°
Thats when I burn Hamers. They are an amazing pellet.

we got about 10-12" here stove in house on 74 manuel mh instead of auto.Garage stove set@ 65 in auto mode showing 62. Outside temp is 18 with light wind. North of here got 94" of snow from Tuesday till Saturday.
