When I shut the P61A down, it will run sometimes for 40 minutes or longer.
this goes on until pellets are burned up and stove is cooled down..
question is why though does it still feed pellets for while also?
should I be turning the feed rate off or as low as it goes, down to #1?
feels stupid here if that's what your supposed to do..lol
thought shutting it off automatically takes care of everything..

When you rotate the room temp/stove temp knob to Off position, the feed motor should stop feeding and the combustion blower should continue to run until the ESP probe detects no heat and shuts down completely. Yes, it can take 40 mins.

I've noticed that as well on my Accentra. Even though the stove is shutting down the pellet auger will bump a few times during the shutdown. It doesn't feed many pellets but it is noticeable. Curious...

Mine does take 40 minutes or longer. I've never actually timed it.

I do know that when cleaning/ brushing the Ash inside of the stove to put it in TEST mode, letting the exhaust blower pull the dust out and not into the room.
In this case I turn feed rate as low as possible...maybe should do this on regular shut down also.

I have a Hestia stove and they cycle the auger on purpose to eliminate the possibility of burn back thru the auger into hopper.

Thanks Bioburner,
that;s exactly how the Harman works also..
I remember that now. forgot about that.
that said, I still want to know if I should turn the feed rate off or down to speed up shutdown..

ESP senses cold stove for proper shut down. Harman does not want possible smoke from ash bin smoking up home. Older stoves are even longer.

I don't think it will make a difference. As bio indicated the auger cycling is a normal part of the shutdown cycle.

cool, thanks for the info. -

It's nice to know what the stove is doing and why

once again, I have learned - thank you

that would really suck to have a hopper fire
