I am looking for an new insert. I would like the door to open from the right side. Do you know if most of the stoves can be ordered with either left or right, or is it fixed per model? At first, I thought certain models would only come in certain ways. Like, all images of Jotul I have seen show doors on the left. I was looking Vermont Castings Montpelier, and noticed both configurations existed. So perhaps you can order it to be certain way?

there is just one or two units like the vermount unit and pacific energy Alderlea that can be ordered with the door handle on either side of the unit.

Glad to see somebody else that knows what the proper side of the door is for handle placement. >>

Someone should make a wood stove that opens DOWN. (bottom hinges, handle at top). Like my oven. That way there is no risk of any logs tumbling out onto the floor.::-)

Plus, while loading, you could lay the splits on the door and then give it a quick slam.;lol
