Not real sure about your Enviro as I have Harmans. It is a fairly easy and simple process for my stoves though. Any diagrams or such in your manual? Try using the search bar above? Someone will chime in with guidance although traffic here is still way slower than normal heating season.

UNPLUG your stove before you attempt any service work. A quick pulling of the cord can save you a lot of time, money, and headaches. Someone last season fried their board banging around with their stove plugged in.

Pull the unit out of fireplace, go around the back, has two t20 screws securing it in place. You may have to go around/through the auger housing. Removing the convection blower will allow a sideways attack. Enviro ignitors are pretty durable, I've replaced them, but I'd unplug the ignitor wires and do a resistance check first (It'll read 35-40 ohms if good, infinity if open). I don't use a t-stat, my 2008 Empress still on original ignitor....

I can only pull the unit out of the fire place about 8 inches, Will that be enough to get to the Ignitor?

Hi Ronzer- no don't think you'll be able to work on it with it out only 8 inches- the ignitor is tucked up inside the middle of the back of the body of the stove. Don't think the Motherboard has anything to do with it but routing power to it..... Have you tried putting direct power to the ignitor?? (Taking the wires off and putting power to it- careful if you're not comfortable with electricity you can get hurt) How old is this Empress?? Is it the new multi-fuse control board (2088 series) or the older single 7 amp fuse style?? The latest board has separate fuses for each motor/ignitor so is much easier to diagnose. I'd try direct power to the ignitor first before I took it out. I don't think the pressure switch (vacuum switch) has to be closed for the ignitor to be routed power for the Empress. The ignitor can be seen in the burnpot, its not glowing orange after a few minutes?? Let us know. Hope this helps.

Can somebody till me or show me how to change a Ignitor on a

Enviro Empress fireplace insert?

Thanks
You need a rachet torx 20, unscrew the two holding it in and pull it out from the back. You wontbe able to get a driver on it though cause the hopper and auger motor is in the way

Thanks for all the Help guys, but I think I will not fix it this year, what is the best way to light pellets without the ignitor working?
Thanks

Well before ignitors, there was gel alcohol- put a handful of pellets in hopper, add some gel and light her up, let it get established burning before you start the unit, or the combustion blower might blow out the flame. Takes a couple of minutes to get them going, close the door and turn the unit on. Get it going good though or you might not get the Proof of fire switch to warm quickly enough, to let the motherboard know ignition occurred, whereupon a flashing 3 will happen, along with shutdown...

I'm a tightwad, so the method I used may work for you. Put a handful of pellets in the hopper burnpot. Get your propane torch and get them going pretty well, takes about 30 seconds or so. Whip the door closed and quick turn on the stove. They'll take right off.

If you're not so adventurous, you can use a few pumps of hand sanitizer on top of a mound of pellets. Throw a lit match at it, whip the door closed and quick turn on the stove.
