It's nice they're inside. Around here they are out in the weather and $259 a ton.. perfect.

I am sure they will move them outside as soon as the spring garden stuff arrives. This is a nice pile they created, but don't be fooled, I have seen them keep them outside. Hell, I have my 4 tons outside on the driveway. Been too lazy to move them to the shed in the back and they really are handy up front. I just cover them with a tarp (not worried about anyone stealing them either, they ain't worth it now with oil being so cheap). Any moisture from the temp changes gets dried up when we bring the bags inside the house and put them in the pellet bag burn queue.

Ya the key outdoors is the tarp, I do that as well. Also some pellets come on the pallets wrapped better than some others. Energex, for instance, wraps theirs very well. Last winter there was a period I didn't even take the pellets off the trailer. Got home backed up near the back door and threw a tarp over the works. That is different than leaving 60 tons out sitting all winter unprotected. TSC has had a back row of them sitting since Aug. Any bets how good those are now ?

Nassau County stores are $199.00/Ton also.
If you go to Blowes, they should match prices to Homo Dopo's.
I bought 2.5ton early, and received 2 free ton, so I am well stocked at the moment.
If they are stil available in the spring, I may restock a couple ton into the basement.

Could be a perfect storm, especially at the big box stores. They need to start bringing in their spring season stock and here in the Northeast, we are expecting at least a week of above-freezing temperatures that will further encourage oil use. Waiting with checkbook in hand.

Here the pellets are outside and they are bringing in spring stock inside. Really at the store I'm thinking of there is a lot of outdoors space, the pellets aren't taking up much of that space either. Maybe 80 tons I saw there between two brands stacked at the end of the garden center.

TSC on the other hand is swamped in pellets, they go way round back of the building. But they do have a side road they load pellets up in come Aug. They might just move them all over there if they haven't sold out and just order less in for Aug delivery. but I didn't like that I got some crumbling pellets from them a few weeks ago, never mind next Aug.

Who knows, time will tell. The flavor of the day in the rest of the country outside New England is trending down on pellet prices.
