You must really load that sucker up! I guess I haven't found the need to yet, usually up to the top of the firebricks which is still a lot of wood giving me long burn times. Considering adding more firebrick to the sides to see if a more convective heat works better for my house than the radiant heat it's throwing out. Installed on the first floor, almost dead-center in the house with an open floorplan. 1,300 sq ft.

Drafty older home, I have a habit of putting in 6-7 large splits on a hot coal bed - get it charred quick and then cut back the air and walk away without worry- hot wife.. i mean happy wife happy life (i think lol)

sometimes I got to wrestle them in - pretty sure I would have taken out on a tube of fiber baffle by now

I've been running mine hard this year. I routinely get 10 hour burns and can stretch to 12 with enough coals for an easy reload. Jam some big stuff in there... Amazing how much wood that thing will eat and how easy it is to run.
