Feeling the Heat
Well, solid fuel does release more particulate matter and inhalable particles (PM10 and PM2.5) than oil or gas.
However, wood is considered to be CO neutral.

Smart oil dealers in Maine and elsewhere will transform themselves into energy companies with solar, wind, geothermal and, yes, wood components. The rest will be out of business in the very near future.

What are they going to tell all those people this winter when heating oil assistance is not available. What are they going to say when we hit an oil crisis and oil has to be rationed. Too many factors in play that can disrupt oil supply, a pellet stove makes a great alternative heat source.

It sounds like the oil dealers are trying to play catch-up because they are being left behind as we switch fuels. I did hear a comment one time that the oil dealers are the same companies that used to be the coal dealers when that was the popular fuel no maybe this is a natural evolution for them.
