Englander 25pdvc baffle plate

Are there suposed to openings on each side of the plate, Mine is not perfectly centered it about maybe an inch off center but the stove puts out loads of heat.

when its centered the entire cleanout behind it is covered, if its a bit off center its no biggie as long as it covers the cleanout

wow whats the problem. Baffle plate sits there ya clean it when it gets dirty. common sense.

Hey guys sorry to bring up a dead thread, just a quick question about the baffle plate. I skimmed through this and some other threads and didn't see an answer to my question...

My baffle sits forward even when the stove is burning...I know that I read as long as the plate is centered it should be fine...but would I get more heat if the plate was pushed back while the stove is burning?

I think the stove leans forward slightly which is why the plate is forward...I would check the to see if the floor is level but my brother raided my tools and I have yet to see the return of my trusty level.

Again, if I over looked the answer I apologize...just write it on a sticky note and put it on my forehead.

EDIT: Just want to make it clear that my stove is putting out great heat and I'm more than happy with it...just wondering if this would increase the heat output at all .

I just wish the handle on the baffle plate to my 55-SHP-22 was a little larger and easier to take out.

I don,t think it matters but you could bend the tabs CDodge to make it fit snug,

Strangemainer you could have someone weld a bigger handle on the plate easy.

My baffle plate leans forward slightly as well. I think it's normal.
