I got my stove and what a stove. She fits MY specifications. I found this old guy (who just lost his wife) who refurbishes stoves in new hampshire. Let's say the drive was quiet, I got hit on, hahahahahahaha, and lo and behold he let me have a 1000 stove for three hundred bucks. Oh you are thinking the worst....OKAY WHAT DID SHE DO FOR IT. I kept him chuckling and laughing and truly talking about stoves. Man he had some fascinating stoves 80 stoves and pieces and parts and carvings. Lets say this was truly amazing, I RELATE IT TO BEING IN THE STORE BUYING A COACH BAG, which I can't this year because I got my stove, hahahahahahahahahah. This guy was a wealth of information. and yes it passes EPA and has a tag on it. It is now sitting in the back of my truck because I partied with my old buddies in mass a lil too hard last night, a lotta too hard. Tires are taking its toll. It took a crain to get it into my expedition, hahahaha

Havn't figured how the hell i'm gonna get it out, up the steps and onto the pad.....600 pounds of sheer black loviness with hand carvings and bifold arched doors..probably overkill, but better hot in shorts than cold in mittens and under a blanket..........but im sure when the hangover wears off, i'll concoct some lame *** device to get it outa the truck.

Truly this man was amazing, so any older ladies than me need a date, he's clearly lookin hahahahahahaha
PS he lives on lake in hot spot on the lake....what a view.

So im trying to get my head outa the toilet long enough to round up something or lots of people to get this outa the truck tommorrow morning when I get home. Sad part is i'm here one more night and the yegga and red bull is lookin good.

Dissasemble the stove as much as is practical to lighten the weight. Take lots of pictures so that you know how to put it back together. You can post the stove porn here.

I'm still trying to figure out if we should be happy for her or not.

Yea she got a deal on the stove! But oh crap shez too hung over to get it in the house. LOL

Wood warms you twice ... once when you cut it and again when you burn it.
Alcohol also warms you twice ... once when you drink it, and again when you mop up the hurl.

Back in my youth when I worked construction and drank lots, I would just work that hangover off. There's nothing like sweating out a hangover. None of this laying around hugging the toilet stuff.

Next time it snows, don't shovel.
Roll the stove over onto a toboggan and slide it on in.

Gettin' things into things must be easier for guys. :)

Ja, we don't need any hugging the toilet pictures.

OK,
I'll be the pig,
Your picture is kinda fuzzy, can ya post a better one, with age and weight ?

Come on Nick. Don't you know by now you don't ask a woman her weight and age?

Christ, she's burning wood and sounds like quite a thirsty girl, what else do you need?

I think the picture quality is fine, & she looks great!
The bottom of the pic got clipped too short, tho! ;-)
Whaddya want from a guy who went out with the local H.O.G. Chapter last nite?!?!?!?!/

Annie,
If you have a Home Depot or Lowes nearby, they sell a moving dolly for about $26.00.
Rated for 900 lbs I believe. Worked great getting my insert around and into place by myself. Of course getting it out of the truck and into the house was not as easy.
Again, by myself. A couple 4x4's or even doubled up 2x 10's or so ramped off the back of the truck makes for easy sliding of the insert down and onto the ground.
You can also buy/rent a good moving hand truck with the straps and that would work great also.
If I was closer, I'd be glad to help, and prolly also flirt a bit to be honest. Can't help it, I'm a guy and its our nature.
Good luck. Take your time and be safe.

My stove was much lighter when I pulled the brick out of it. You should at least be able to pull off the door. Time to go buy a 30 pack and call your drinking buddies over.

Matt

Hard to make any suggestions for moving the stove or installation without more details on the hardware. What's the stove make and model?

I assume when she said she got a 1000 stove that it is an Osburn.

Maybe, though the description doesn't fit the stove. "600 pounds of sheer black loviness with hand carvings and bifold arched doors" Sounds like an EPA I, if even that.

could you post some info about this guy i could use another stove...
also where are you in mass? might be worth my time helping you if you introduce me as your "step-brother"

Borrow or rent an engine hoist and some heavy straps might be a way to get it out .

I'll second the furniture dolly. That is what we used to get our 500 pounder in the house. We did not uncrate it until we were right next to the hearth. The we tore the crate apart and with the help of 3 men and a boy, we got the job done.

Wear that shirt in your avitar and whistle at a few young studs walking by. They'll have that stove unloaded and on the hearth in the blink of an eye.

Open the back door of your 'truck', get going about 30 mph in reverse, slam on brakes... it will come out.
