NW CT
in NW CT. First of the year... Seems a bit early ????

Anyone else seeing it?

They're forecasting accumulation up near you up to three inches haha. I doubt you'll see it stick - but the CT weather stations have already brushed off their panic buttons - now all we'll hear about for the next three months is "A HUGE STORM IS COMING!!!" ...oh it missed completely..."ANOTHER HUGE STORM IS COMING!!!"...nope missed again..."EVERBODY FREAK OUT IT'S GOING TO SNOW"

You're not kidding about that.. It's funny how it's almost the exact same thing for every storm. 3 inches eh ? I'd like to see that!

Cold rain last night and all day today. And forecast to be the same until Monday. Not supposed to see the sun till sometime Monday. If it was to move up the coast you guys would be buried in snow.

Just starting to lay here, got about 1/2" or a lil more on my truck.

isnt that around where them ice storms ripped stuff down last year?

43 down here but feels colder with the hard driving rain stove is going strong....

Here in SW Conn its snowing more or less pretty steadily. Not much accumulation on the roads to speak of, but its sticking to the grass and bushes and the deck. I actually love it-
I don't know what its supposed to do for the rest of the evening, because being a new englander i'm pretty skeptical about what the weather people have to say, my guess seems to be as good as theirs half the time. (Not just with snow, but I ride a motorcycle 75% of the time and check the weather to see how to dress, but I digress.)
I've got the fire cooking, its nice inside- let it snow.

Yeah it was brutal... We were out of power for 2 days.. some friends north of here went as long as 8 days without. Looked like a tornado ripped through but EVERYTHING was covered in ice. It's funny you mention that because I'm currently burning all the kindling wood that came down during that storm!! There was PILES of it too!

Snow is falling in NW Jersey at my in-laws (they live within a few miles of High Point)-just a miserable cold rain in my neck of the woods. I'm looking forward to starting a fire when I get home, but I forgot to cover my "on deck" pile just outside the back door...D'oh!

Coldest 6 days ever last year. I had a pellet stove, boooo. I fixed that tho. Currently on the southeast corner of NH its cloudy and 40F outside. I think we will miss the snow. I would not mind getting a little just to have a good laugh.

They are calling for possible snow flurries tomorrow night and into Saturday - western PA. Its going to stay in the 30's for the next couple days... I need to find some more wood! I guess the burning season is going to start a bit early around here...

We had flurries in South west Michigan this morning

first snow of the season here. Last year we had a foot on October 28th and that was early! The overall winter forcast from the NWS is for a normal winter though. It's going to be around 30 tonight with about 3 inches of snow and they are calling for highs around 60 next Wed! This sounds more like you guys's out west weather.

Saranac NY and we had 1-2" the other morning. Four year old woke up yelling and screaming that it was Christmas.......

No snow here in Nassau County, Long Island (NY). But it is 42 degrees which is cold (around here) for this time of year.

Got to light a fire in my stove for the first time this year (about half a month earlier than anticipated), so I am :)

I recall in 1987 we had to be in Connecticut in early October. When we started home, heading west on the Interstate we got stopped just inside of NY state because of a big snow. After being stopped on the Interstate for a long, long time we finally was able to get across to the other side and head back east.

The next day we headed west again and the road was open. You could tell well over a foot of snow had fallen and there were trees and power lines down all over the place. We stopped to get some coffee or something but this particular town had been out of power since the day before and told us of many other towns the same. As soon as we got over that hump in NY state, all was well and clear sailing.

No, it is not good to get snow this early.

It's been snowing in "South Central" CT since about 2PM. I grew up in Western Mass. This is the earliest I can recall seeing snow in my lifetime. But don't think this bothers me....(see user name)

After the infamous October 3rd snowstorm (years ago) which brought down so many trees most of upstate NY was without power for over a week, yup. I agree with Matt - NO SNOW while the leaves are on the trees! I hope nobody gets really hit with this, its noit pretty when it happens.

Started spitting snow pellets around 4:00PM in Southern Worcester County. The girls loved the snow during soccer practice. I was freezing my bajingles off and they were all having fun. Must be the age because I soon as I got home, I ran to the stove to warm up :)

39 and cold rain here on South Shore-raw but no snow for us for awhile- have had the new stove fired up since noon and just cracked a cold beer and watching a little football on the bigscreen-this is awesome!
