thanks,...i ended up getting 3" flex about 5' from a local stove shop (the best little stove shop)..only cost me $25 for it!!!!!...but i was able to snake it through the heatilater pipes without and cutting or anything...i guess the heatilater was a large unit so the tubes were spaced out perfecct...

the vase is on the pellet fill lid...after hours of running its still cold to the touch...it should be fine

ill tell you,..it sure is nice to get up and start the stove and have a nice warm living room in just a few minn!!!

If you can put a thermostat on that stove, then you'll really like it.

Get a programmable and the stove is almost totally automatic, besides filling w/ pellets and cleaning. You can have the stove start-up a little while before you get up. Now THAT'S nice!! ;-)

You can't use a Programmable thermostat on Whitfield Stove. You can use a thermostat that will control hi and low temp settings.

That's too bad..... %-P

Why can't you use a programmable thermostat? I do. It just adjust the time the stove "will have" or "not have" a contact in the back kicking it to low.

mine dosent have a "high and low" setting...just fan knob auger speed nob and auger on switch...the other switch above the auger on switch dosent seem to do anything

Go on-line and read the manual, you can not have that stove shut off and on. You can set the stove on Hi and the thermostat will control the stove. Once the stove hits temp, the stove will go to low, if the temp drops the stove will go into Hi.

i took the side pannel off today to get a better look at what was going on inside the stove....i found this taped up thing laying in the bottom of the stove,...its got 2 blue wires that go to the back of the stove...any idea what this is?...looks like it should be connected to something instead of just laying on the floor of the stove....sorry for all the questions,...but this is my first stove...i prolly should have got a newer stove for my first one,...but this one was free to me

here are a few pics of what im talking about

The 1st photo is where the proof of fire sensor(snap disc) would go. Yours must be jumped out. I think that's why you have to unplug it to stop the combustion fan. Once the stove temp drops below 120ºF the disc opens and shuts off the combustion blower.

Second photo is the snap disc for the convection blower. Once the stove heats to about 160ºF the disc closes and it would start the convection fan

Photo 1 Snap Switch Temp (Ceramic F140-30F)This switch is for proof of fire. Photo 2 Snap Switch Temp (Bakolite L250-30F) This is a Over Heat switch(Protection). If you over heat the stove it will shut the stove down.
