In my intro thread, I posted a picture of a terrible install and got a lot of comments on it. I figured for everyone's amusement I would post pictures from time to time in this thread of different things I see and do from day to day. I hope you enjoy the pictures and if you like them I will keep them coming.

Got wood?

Do me a favor and don't ever look UP a flue again when you are busting tiles in it. ;-) We want ya around here for a while.

This was just a cell camera held inside it. We could see it with out stick the noggin inside it.

WOW!! Thanks for the pics.

My test fire. This is my KH FP. I did all the framing and stonework myself with the help of the boss man. In the picture the stone is not tuckpointed and the FP isnt cleaned up, but you get the idea.

Part of the remodel that included the FP. This is me learning to texture drywall :)

That liner looks like my chimney used to every two weeks after the cat failed in my old Grizzly. My wife still thinks I wasted the money replacing the old "perfectly functional" insert. She will enjoy not sweating while watching me go up on a metal roof with snow/ice on it every other week though.

I love the photos definitely worth more than 1000 words.

Oh heck, that is the stuff done right. That is no fun. Post the pic of the pipe you saw driving down the road. :smirk:

Here it is and I can't tell you what its doing, I saw it driving down the road one day and had to snap a pic.

Somebody on hearth.com told him that he needed to add some pipe to fix his draft problem.

Did the mason go on strike halfway through the job or was it just Miller time?

Great pics . . . scary to look at and imagine the possible consequences . . . but great nonetheless.

And people worry about using hardibacker under a hearth.

"And make sure you strap that brick chimney to the building - ya don't want that falling down now, ya hear!"

Great pics - keep them coming.

Sometimes a stainless steel chase cover just isn't enough. How ugly!

Just to horn in on your thread a little bit.

"Yes my wood is dry. Why do you ask that?"

Sir, you have had a chimney fire. His reply was "I aint never had no chimney fire" His wife "I thought we were having one about 7 years ago". Me (in my head) "And you never thought about getting it looked at until know and you still burned in it? Lucky your LOG home is still here". This is looking down the flue to which the cap in the above picture belongs too. (the one thats melted and burned thru)

Great pic's Keith. Keep 'em coming.
