I am running an older conventional buderus wood boiler, and am having problems with the loading door gaskets. The rope gaskets only last about a week, before they stick too the boiler, probably from creosote, and start to rip off when I open the door to load the boiler. I have been cementing them in with the rutland cement, but it doesn't seem to hold them very well. Is there a silacone product that I could use to make new gaskets with , or that would adhere to the rope gaskets better?
