Have any of you run across a good monthly magazine that directly speaks to wood burning for heat, that includes articles on everything from wood to equipment?

I'm interested in a monthly periodical that has information on everything from tree harvesting to wood burning innovations. (Basically everything we talk about here, but in a monthly magazine form).

Mother Earth news?

How many articles on dry wood can you read?

Matt
Good point, used to be (30 years ago) some magazines that came out once a year with all the stoves and such, once a year would be plenty.

Actually, since it was mentioned in here.......we DO get "Mother Earth News" already.

Hey Soupy...I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to respond anyway. I don't know of any monthly magazine's but I would like to recommend a book. It is called THE WOODBURNER'S COMPANION: PRACTICAL WAYS OF HEATING WITH WOOD, by Dirk Thomas. A friend recommended it to me and I really enjoyed it. The author gives clear, sensible information. That, combined with his good sense of humor make it an enjoyable read. You can probably get it at your library, if you don't want to buy it. Have a Merry Christmas.

I think Craig just needs to send Soupy a renewal notice and a bill once a year.

Try "Grit" magazine. It's not wood-burners' monthly, but it has way more stuff useful to folks who live in the country, including probably more on wood cutting, burning, tools and equipment, etc., than anything else out there.

If there was a magazine, this site would get very busy once a month talking about the stupid people who wrote the article in this months issue of "Woodburner Monthly". The only good thing about the magazine is it would not be printed on glossy paper, so it could be used for starting fires after your done reading it.

Burn!

Ya, probably almost every article would be "wisdom" gleaned from the other journalists who just copied some garbage from some other article or book, thinking that the old wisdom is still good for today. While much is, certainly not all. But then, half of what I believed yesterday today I am doubting already.
