Back home from the holiday travels. Lit the Greenwood last night about 7 pm. Dripped condensation from the refractory, insulation, and skins until about 11:30 when I went to bed. Good argument again for building one fire. This morning all was well, refractory was bright white, no dripping, and the whole house and system were up to temp. I light it the first time late October early Nov. and keep it going non stop until Xmas. Now that it is re lit I will burn non stop until mid April. No Storage, heating the house plus all domestic water. Average about 8 cords per year (mostly un split rounds) Not hearing the Oil burner fire in the basement, "Priceless".
