That Olso is a great looking stove. I've always liked them. I hear that they're a real heating powerhouse too.

Nice...because nice matters!
I think I have the same windows in my house...Andersons?

Very nice install. That pic makes it look real close to the walls though.

they are anderson ... gota love the double pane ,,,, i grew up with storm windows ughhhh no fun in the spring and fall...

"Because nice matters" is for my 4 year old son...and sometimes my wife

all clearances are exceeded double wall stove pipe & rear heat shield... tho the back wall seems quite warm to the touch

Our windows were bought when the house was built in 1986..maybe it was 85...anyways ours are double pane but we still put triple track storms on also.
They do look just like ours.
She had the plastic strips put in to make them look more colonial ..but she took them back out in less then a month..lol.
Did you think about putting the stove on a angle in the corner at all?
I looked again..probably would be to close to window then.

Love the install! But I have to say the ash pan handle doesnt look closed. Be very careful with that feature........ it can cause you issues.

i also have the plastic strips but dont like them so i took them out too

wanted to do an angle thing but thought i couldnt cause of the side loading door. which is the only one i use due to ash spillage from the front door

i am also aware of the ash pan door not sure why it looks like that i havent opened it except to clean out ashes once... just double checked its closed up tight thanks for lookin out

Now thats a real looker you got there. :bug: I load mine mostly from side door , same reason, sometimes I use the front for awhile after a cleaning you can sure stack the wood in there through the front.

My stove is in the basement is 30" from concrete walls and most of the time the wall is so hot I can't touch it. Can't imagine all that heat close to trim and windows and such. Also the floor is hot enough I need shoes on to load the stove.

Looks like a lot of thought and care went into designing a hearth and selecting a stove to complement the room. Congratulations, and may she keep you warm and happy for many, many years to come.

+1 Well said.

Nice all around. Thanks for the photo. I like that lamp. :)

Hi Bob congrats on the new stove and she sure is a beauty! Jotul Oslo has timeless beauty and would look good just about anywhere..

Great looking stove, I think the Mojolica Brown Oslo and Firelight are the finest looking stoves available. I know it was already mentioned, but the ashpan door does look unlatched. You have to really be careful. The way it is designed allows ash to fall through the grate when the pan is removed and when the pan is re-inserted it pushes that ash to the back preventing the pan from going all the way back, in turn, preventing the door from closing all the way.

.

Triple track storms? More info please. Are they something you can add to a preexisting window?

If you can hold your hand against the wall, you are in the safe zone.

Nice looking install.

Looks good Bob. Thanks for posting the picture.

phatfarmerbob,
Nice install. Very good looking stove. Nice to have another Hudson Valley resident around. Whereabouts in the Valley are you from if you don't mind me asking? I'm in Kingston.

Nice stove and install . . . my wife and I are talking about putting up some stone on the walls behind our hearth once we're done with the kitchen renovation.

As others noted, it does appear as though the ash pan handle is not all the way shut . . . as Webby noted what can happen is that ash and some coals can spill out when you remove the ash pan . . . not a big deal . . . just check for the ash before you put the ash pan back (I shovel mine out as a matter of habit) . . . and then make sure the latch shuts all the way.

We have Andersons throughout our house. Our favorite room, where we hang out most of the time, is the sun room. Forty feet long. Thirteen windows make up 90% of the walls on three sides. In this room only, most of the sash cords have broken. On several of the windows both cords have broken. Probably due to sun exposure over 25 years.

Have you had this problem? What do you do to replace the cords?

Sorry to hijack your thread.

Thanks all i do love it ... i also have the ash pan thing worked out. the lamp is made from stones out of the esopus river in the catskills... not by me tho unfortunatly...

i am in campbell hall , maybrook area exit 5 off hwy 84
