Hello everyone,

I am new here and am asking for some help please? I have a older Tasso A3 wood /coal boiler and I am looking for any type of manual that would come with this?

I have the automatic damper for air inlet and it was working great, until I think my son (13) might have knocked it and now I feel it is not regulating right.

I looked at me water temp gage and tried to set it from there. It read 140 so I moved the adjustment down to 140 and let the chain holding it open be just a little tight yet not open the air inlet. Does this sound right?

I have air in the line issues that are going to be fixed this week with a “air scoopâ€, however my main concern is the temp regulation.

Any help would so gratefully appreciated.
 
It sounds like you have a "Samson" controller on your boiler. You could try cleaning or checking it for damage. My best guess is that a faulty Samson needs to be replaced. Connecticut Green Heat sells a Honeywell/Braukmann replacement for about $50.00 & this is probably your best bet if you need another one. It sounds like you are setting it right, make sure the screw that pops the flap open for minimum air is also set correct(there should be something like this on there), Welcome to Hearth, Randy
 
I used a tasso boiler and had trouble adjusting the sampson controller. I down loaded the manual from Broderus? wood boiler to help me. The jist of it is (from memory) set dial at 30-35 run boiler to desired temp then attach chain so that air baffle is closed, no air once boiler is up to temp. I think the sampsons are rugged units and would be surprised if there was a problem with it. Your dial #'s sound diff maybe Celcius, I didn't think that there was a correlation between the dial # and boiler temp. I'm not home right now but you can PM me for help. (My Tasso is still set up as backup boiler but it ain't no Eko)
 
I looked last night and everything is fine, It is a Samson. I had a new pump and air scoop installed this morning. Tonight I'll fire it up!
