You cut down and clean up and you can have the wood. Easy access. Asking for a deposit until all limbs are cleaned up, then you will get it back.

Location: east lyme
it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commerc

No Deal!

The guy should be thrilled if anyone offers to cut down the trees for free, never mind clean up and give a deposit, sheez

Well buddy I got a message for you - Wish for your deposit in one hand, crap in the other, see which one fills up first.

That fellows not very trusting now is he. Thats his way of making sure the cleanup is to his liking and someone doesn't just make off with the firewood. Something tells me he will need to change his ad hehehehe.

I think that for service like that, he may have to pay somebody. What an AH.

Reminds me of the "free wood" ad I called on recently. The guy said the logs were huge and I would need a truck with a boom to lift them off the ground. He said he didn't want anyone cutting them up on his property. I said, do you really think someone with that equipment wants to take your free wood? Free wood, already cut up is all over the place.

Yeah, I saw a guy doing that near my house too...
He was actually selling them for a few hundred bucks though (was maybe 4-5 cords worth), and I asked if I could use a chainsaw to chop them.
Figured if it was decent wood it might make it worth it...

But no chainsaws on property, and wanted people with the proper equipment to pay him and haul it away.
I just laughed and said buhbye.

The best part is he probably gets a few emails a day telling him what a moron he is. In the end he just sits there frustrated and with a pile of free wood, only to eventually pay for someone to haul it away and a landscaper to replant grass after the damage. I stopped by an older guy twice. He said he burned wood in the fireplace. I offered to split it with him if he helped split and stack... A year later a landscape company was there throwing it in a dump truck. Some people never learn. His was maple, I ended up scoring a few cord of ash in the meantime!!!
