My parents is getting stove cement and sealed permanently! My mom and dad will some how loose this plug and will wonder why their temps keep going off the charts... It's getting the lock down!

They love, love, love the new 30 btw! Heats the resturant quite nicely and is very pleasing to look at.

All the bricks that run parallel to the door seem to be too short in my firebox. When i put them in place i left a tiny gap over by the firebox wall and then put in the vertical brick. If I had an extra big brick, then I would pull one of those parallel bricks out and put it over the ash dump and put the large brick in it's place.

Thefirst thing I did was cut a block for it.

The Century ash pan rocks, the Englander is just too small to be useful.

I have an NC13, but I put a brick in there right away and it has been great. No ashes dropping into the pan yet anyway. I have only had half dozen fires so far.

Regarding cutting bricks - I used a mini-grinder with a diamond blade to cut mine. Works great, but use a work-mate table to clamp the brick (and wear safety glasses!!).

I think Englander should redesign that ash plug so that it has a dimple type pick up so that it is flush. Similar to a manhole cover, you could use the poker to lift out the plug! Englander, if your reading this, I want 20% :cheese:

I cut off the tab on the plug last year,.... then ground it down flush,......never use the pan,......maybe Ill buy a brick and cut it to fit???? hahaha guess im not the only one who hated that "stupid tab"!!! lol
