Had trouble igniting yesterday. Finally started. Got up this morning and had a 5 light blink on status. Any suggestions?

clean it

concur (probably)........unless the ignitor is shot.....does the burnpot get hot at all? Checked the resistance across the ignitor?

I did feel the burn pot yesterday when it didn't light and it did get warm. I emptied the overflow of pellets in the burn pot, turned off the power and started over and it lit. Yesterday was warm enough not to run it and when I turned up the thermostat last night, it obviously didn't light.

Clean it....! I haven't even burned a ton of pellets through it yet.

it sounds like it is dirty someplace if when you cleaned out the pot it lit then it missed again

I cleaned the furnace and it wasn't too bad...BUT....I forgot about the litlle trap door under the burn pot. Opened that up and it was like a dump truck dumping a load of sand! I'll obviously remember to open that and clean it out a little more often. Started right up and going strong.

Thanks for all the replys. If I wasn't pointed in the direction of "clean it", I never would have remembered it.

good job

The 13 fin ignitor on my PB105 just took a dump two days ago, about a day short of its one year anniversary from install. I replaced it with the newer 15 fin ignitor, hopefully it lasts a little longer.

When you do your every ton cleaning, in addition to removing the plate that exposes the ignitor and sucking out the sand and mineral granules, remove the ignitor assembly and get the vacuum up into the top corners of the underside of the burn pot, above where the ignitor sits. I had a lot of build up caked in there and I think it was blocking airflow over the ignitor and shortened its life.
