About the Pacific E types of stoves.

I'm curious if the Thermo air control valve that controls the secondary burn chamber has
proven to reliable. Is this the only type of stove that uses automatic type control of
a secondary chamber system.
Plus, if it becomes defective or jams, how would the stove behave and would it be an easy fix.
