Have a napoleon 1400 without a blower, but want to get one. The napoleon blower (EP62-1) runs about $200. Just
found 2 different aftermarket blowers though for much cheaper that specifically say they are compatible with
the 1400. Is there any reason not to go with one of the aftermarket ones?

Compare the amps, CFM, mounting holes, switches (rheostat or low/med/high), and dimensions - if they're all the same as the Napoleon then pick any of them.
